Reader’s home – Kathleen’s mid-century home in Belgium

Posted on Tue, 19 Jun 2012 by KiM

I’ve got a reader’s home to share with you today, thanks to Kathleen: I am a painter and interior design student from Leuven, Belgium and I love all vintage and retro things. I am a big fan of the Brussels flee markets and thrift stores and furnished almost all my house with it. I live for 15 years in my house now – a 1930’s midterraced, 2 storey house in the university town of Leuven. My painting and windows are on: kathleenmineetalage.weebly.com. I’m a big fan of mid-century decor, and Kathleen’s home has lots of cool vintage MCM pieces such as a Bertoia chair, West German pottery, teak Danish chairs and OMG fab leather sofa!

I agree, I love the mid-century pieces and leather couch! Nice house Kathleen, it looks great. The bedroom paint color is awesome with the wall hanging.

The granny square afghan is very much of the period. I wonder if she found that thrifting, or if it's been handed down in her family.

Kristina says:

I love the computer corner, it is my favorite from all the pictures. Wouldn't mind if it is in my flat! 🙂 Great job, Kathleen!

Oregonbird says:

The bedroom is very striking! I love the dishes, I've collected mine piece by piece as well, and love each one for itself — you just don't get that from a set.

What a lovely and welcoming home.

Kathleen says:

Thanks to you all for your lovely comments! @alanc230: the granny square afghan was from another granny than mine, since I thrifted it too.
