I have to admit I was a bit embarrassed when Clair emailed to let us know about the interior design firm in Vancouver she works for – Angela Robinson. I was not at all familiar with this firm….and I LOVE their work! Have I been living under a rock?! So here is a glimpse into the wonderful world of interiors as thoughtfully devised and beuatifully executed by Angela and her team.

Artistic Designs for living

Artistic Designs for living is about creativity, organization and management.”

To me it is all about how San Francisco interior designer Tineke Triggs and her design team use confident colour, sophisticated layering and careful consideration of the space. The first few photos are of the ADFL studio. The colour is “kapow”, the textures lush. Love the brick wall with the shelf for book display. May just have to use that in my own home. Don’t miss the Mill Valley family home after the jump. Earthy, casual, creative. A wonderful family space.

Barefoot luxury

New from South African interior designer firm ANTONI ASSOCIATES. A family home in Pearl Valley Golf Estate located near Paarl, just 30 minutes away from Cape Town. With the initial house design by Gauteng based architect Gardiol Bergenthuin, the owners wanted the interior designers to create a modern family home with the emphasis on barefoot luxury. The boundary between interior and exterior is blurred with the house centred on a courtyard with reflective pond and natural finishes provide a foil to custom designed furniture. It’s contemporary and clean lined with a casual luxury. Sophisticated yet tough enough for a young family.

Thought I’d stimulate the sense with some eye-catching interior photography once again, this time with a taste of the portfolio of California-based photographer James Baigrie.

An Icelandic beauty

I am so stoked to have devoured the latest issue of Home & Delicious, created by Iceland’s powerhouse couple Gunnar Sverrisson (a photographer) and Halla Bára Gestsdóttir (a designer). I featured a couple of homes from their first issue here and here and I can’t wait to show you one from issue #2 (there are so many incredible homes featured I had a hard time deciding one one to blog). Magical photos and beautiful spaces, as I have come to expect from my new favourite online shelter magazine. This home is a 36 m2 cabin on a lake, build in the 70’s and moved from it’s original to current location in the 90’s, then extended and electricity added. The predominantly white/black/blue colour scheme and casual vibe is perfect for the rugged surroundings.
