What a wonderful family home, full of light and a life well lived. Children and music and friends and entertaining. A kitchen as the centre of it all and everywhere a casual sense of style. Long time reader Kimberley and her husband Adam have sadly sold this house and moved on but Kimberley assures me that it is to another renovation adventure. So without further ado I present to you a wonderful Australian home, the Baudelaire family home.
P.S. You can see before and afters here.

So what are the advantages to having the oven on the floor. We are currently designing our kitchen and I have never seen this before. Doesn't the oven handle hit floor………….?

Not sure what is meant to be inspiring about this house. It looks pretty ordinary to me; cheap furniture, standard finishes, standard layout. There's nothing fundamentally wrong with it, but is certainly not a design to inspire.

I love that you guys show "ordinary" homes from time to time. Real people with real mess and furniture that doesn't cost a couple of mortgage payments a piece. You can still live a good, complete life and have ikea and an ordinary layout. I find that inspiring. This house beats mine hands down 🙂 Although that wouldn't be hard :):)
