Jonas Ingerstedt

Posted on Mon, 17 Jun 2013 by KiM

Jonas Ingerstedt, you are my new photographer crush. And I’ve got it BAAAAAD. Jo featured your work a few years ago, and I’m sorry we forgot all about you. The spaces you have photographed are absolutely incredible, and made even more incredible by your ability to perfectly capture them through your lens. Who would have thought I’d love an orange and black kitchen so much? Or light blue kitchen cabinets? Or a pink hallway? And my love for Tom Dixon’s copper shade pendant has grown stonger because of you…

Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 17 Jun 2013 by KiM

If you’d like to send me photos to include in next week’s “pets on furniture” post, please ensure your photos follow my basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, if the photo is dark or fuzzy then it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.comand PLEASE don’t send closeups of your pet! Thanks!

I’d like to dedicate this post to Muffy, my twin sister’s cat. Julia had to have her put down on Thursday because she was about 20 years old and her age was really taking a toll. Muffy was a cool, easy-going cat and we’ll miss her.

What do I love most in this picture? Curious Gordie? The skylight? Freshly cut roses? The groovy chrome chair? The tole table? It’s Gordie, by a hair.
– Priscilla

My best friend Molly, on what is now “her” chair.
– Brandi (Dallas, TX)

My dog’s name is Oggy and he is 1 year and 2 months old (14 months). He is a Labrador. That’s my bed. Coffee and cream coloured.
– Saumya

Stella the French Bulldog (1 year old) has recently claimed ownership of our armchair so she can check out what’s going on on the street below (we’re on the fifth floor).
– Emma (Bilbao, Northern Spain)

The other day I was taking photos of a corner of my living room and noticed one of the old boyz Edgar curled up on my Green Light District chair that I always have covered with a (faux) sheepskin rug. Since the rug perfectly matches his odd fur (fluff really) I had to snap some photos.

Warehouse wonder

Posted on Mon, 17 Jun 2013 by midcenturyjo

I love a warehouse refurb and today I have two. One a condo with history and loads of style. The other a commercial space with history and loads of style. But they have more than that in common. They are both designs by Jessica Helgerson. I can put my hand on my heart and say there is not a thing I would change. Lofty praise indeed. Oooooh did I just say that!

P.S. Photography by Lincoln Barbour.

I wish

Posted on Sun, 16 Jun 2013 by KiM

I wish there was more time in a day. I wish I lived in a warmer climate so I could experience summer-like weather for more than 3 months a year. Because of these wishes, I am going to be sort of random with my posts on Sundays for the next couple of months. I’ll be spending time at my sister’s cottage trying to get in as much fresh air, sunlight and warmth as I can (I was there yesterday – it was a blast). Today I have a quick post of a beautiful home featured in Lantliv magazine. I sure wouldn’t mind spending my summer here.
On a side note, I have a million chores to get done today but I’m hoping to find time to tweak some photos I took of new items in my home so stay tuned for that later on ‘kim’s page‘.
