Stalking closer to home

Posted on Tue, 9 Jul 2013 by midcenturyjo

I’ve always loved this home. Balanced on a ridge line in Brisbane with some of the best views in the city is a classic Queenslander home. An extension by Brisbane architect Owen Architecture seems to tumble down the steep slope, block stacked on block with references to the historic habit of building boxy little rooms between the soaring timber stumps this house would have once perched on. I cannot tell you the number of times I have travelled this road and strained to see inside. This is a home I have stalked in real life and now it is for sale. I can’t even daydream about moving into this one because it would break my heart that I couldn’t. The link for the listing is here and you can see more on the architects’ website here.

What a cool house, and a HUGE surprise from the looks of the front of the house. It is spectacularly built and love the interior!
