The Socialite Family

Posted on Tue, 5 Nov 2013 by KiM

Perhaps I’ve been living under a rock lately, but I only just discovered (thanks to some random googling) the blog The Socialite Family, created by Constance Gennari. Formerly a children’s fashion journalist and then Art buyer for an advertising agency, I recently decided to immerse myself in the world of blogging to share with you my true passion: observing interior design through the eyes of a family, whether in Paris, New York or anywhere else in the world. I am particularly inspired and passionate about these contemporary, urban families and through this blog, wish to inspire you with my interpretation of these unique environments and people. I LOVE this blog – it’s essentially MilK magazine in blog form. And speaking of MilK magazine, check out this stunning vacation home of Isis-Colombe Combréas, editor at MilK, her husband and their 2 children (aged 9 & 15). It is located on l’Ile de Ré, an island off the west cost of France. It’s pretty much my dream home – a rustic structure with a black and white colour scheme with some designer pieces mixed in with vintage finds.  GORG!!!

Little details

Or should I say details for the little ones. A reading nook hideaway, a door within a door and a jigsaw puzzle cupboard with a special lockable drawer. Keep out! Special touches for special people. By Berlin based Karhard Architektur.

Stalking a family beach house

Posted on Tue, 5 Nov 2013 by midcenturyjo

I’m stalking cool today. From its childlike “house” shape to its oak and concrete combo, this home at Barwon Heads, Victoria is colourful, fun and all about modern family living. Love the kitchen, the living dining room, the alfresco decks and who would not want their own skate ramp. Told you it was cool! Link here while it lasts.
