I am totally sick of winter. It is the worst one Ottawa has had in 20 years so they tell us. Despite my trip to Mexico, I have seriously had it. So today I thought I would transport us to Spain, where ceilings are higher, moldings are ornate, tiles are graphic, archways are abundant, and the decor is spectacular. Whether contemporary or more classic and relaxed, Barcelona architect and interior designer Meritxell Ribé is making it work and providing the eye candy on this too cold of a Friday.

Seriously sick of it in Toronto too. Thanks for trying to help lift the spirits!

Definitely bring on the summer I say, although we have just had a glorious sunny weekend here in the UK, which was a welcome change!
What beautiful rooms – so light, sunny and bright. I love neutral schemes. You can then have real fun adding colour and texture by way of furniture and accessories. Rustic tones always add warmth and character. I love the French country style dining set (pic 3)- its carved and distressed appeal adds real charm to the room. Hints of gold are always a sure winner for adding style too (pic 1). Also loving the brick/tile ceilings and wooden floors – fab.
