Casa Kulanu is a collaboration between interior designer Rela Gleason and architect Bobby McAlpine. This home is so stunning (although the decor is more traditional than I typically get excited about) – the windows are my absolute favourite (*sigh*) and the high ceilings, exposed beams and stonework are the icing on the cake. I am a little taken aback by the kitchen setup with 3 islands – not sure how conducive to decent flow that is. It’s a bit strange but hey, THOSE WINDOWS! 🙂

love that last bed nook! how cosy it must be to while away an afternoon hiding in there with a good book.

Roy Rogers and Trigger on the TV – how can you not love it? (not to mention a fireplace in the bathroom with sheepskin rugs!)
Christina says:
Bobby McAlpine is one of my favourite architects. Homes with soul that are arresting yet intimate. For the kitchen, the average home cook would likely find that many islands are an obstacle to workflow. I suspect, though, that the owners of this house do a lot of entertaining of larger groups (and would hire a chef/caterer for that purpose). If that's true, then having multiple workstations would be much more useful than a single large island or one long counter.
A window cleaner passing by says:
The windows are truly stunning, but from my professional point of view, I can tell you that those multi-pane windows are NOT easy to clean, especially since they are in different sizes and you can't use just a regular squeegee. The best you can do is wash them with a sponge (more time consuming) or buy a smaller than the regular squeegee.
But apart from that, the place looks amazing. I absolutely love the last pic. I wish I can have this type of room – all I'll need is an interesting book and you won't hear from me all day 🙂
Greetings from Sydney 🙂
