If you would like to send me photos to include in next week’s pets on furniture post, please ensure your photos follow these basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, if the photo is too dark or unfocused it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to kim[at]desiretoinspire[dot]net. Thanks!
Here’s my 4.5 year old rescue, Leroy. He’s 100% purebred littlewhitedog. We have a pair of these chairs and recycled kilim pillows. He has claimed them all, along with every sunny spot in our condo in San Francisco.

I’m sending you a couple of better pics of our showroom Charles and Ray Eames lounge chair with our cute brown Galgo Espanol Ada and our Black Grayhound Twiggy.

This is my cat Henry, lounging on an Eames knockoff that I found on Craigslist several years ago. It’s his favorite place to hangout and look handsome.

My name is MarieClaude and I am an artist, landscape designer and animal lover from Montreal. I have always wanted to send you pictures of our rescued cats from the garden. Some were attacked by a mother racoon, others were found almost frozen in the garden one winter night, etc. But all in all, their stories did not end there because we could not leave them outside to suffer. The lives of the ones that we rescued all have an happy ending…inside somewhere on a piece of furniture of their choice!!!
1 – Buxus on the chair and his sister Fougère on the Saarinen tulip table in the breakfast room (both rescued after a mother racoon attacked them one summer night in 2012). I bought the chair from a Quebec contemporary furniture maker ‘Interversion’ when I was a student in 1991, the table was our Christmas gift to ourselves last year and the iron shelving, we picked up on the side walk…
2 – Shadow resting comfortably on my grand-mother’s quilt on our Ikea sofa, cushions by myself! I know that it is a close up but I could not resist since Shadow was rescued last winter almost 1 1/2 year after her ‘babies’ Buxus and Fougère but not before losing both her ears!!!
Images 3 and 4 are of the same chair but with different cats. The chair was left in the garbage by the previous owners when we bought our house in 2001. It is by far the most sought after chair in the house!
3 – Willie RIP, rescued at 2 years old when her previous owner did not want her anymore because she was sick…with regular visits to the vet, I am happy to say that she lived to be almost 17 years old.
4 – Chatouille, one of three, on the same chair…she also likes to sleep deep inside a woven basket that was meant to be a flower pot holder but was recycled into a cat bed, her choice!
