Siting on the stairs

I have a thing for sitting on the stairs. It seems Sydney based architect Virginia Kerridge does too.

Maria Grossman

I enjoy a perfect, magazine-worthy, no-one lives here styled space but every now and then, I enjoy the simplicity and the normalcy of photos such as these, styled by Germany-based Maria Grossman. You even have a dog on a chair (it is Monday after all) and a dog on a ball/pouf.

Monday’s pets on furniture

Posted on Mon, 15 Sep 2014 by KiM

If you would like to send me photos to include in next week’s pets on furniture post, please ensure your photos follow these basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, if the photo is too dark or unfocused it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to kim[at]desiretoinspire[dot]net. Thanks!

Pita is our 9 week old goldendoodle puppy. She has only been home for a week but she fits right in! She loves this chair as much as I do.
– Maria (Philadelphia, PA)

This is my rescue cat, DK. She is on an oak table that was my Mother in Laws Grandparents table. They died in the influenza outbreak in 1918. The base was lost over time, and she forgot she had this table top in her basement. I rescued it out of a garage sale pile, and this summer I found the base at another garage sale. It’s a great match, and the large size really works in our family room! Bonus- the cat loves getting on it and swatting at the other cat when he walks by.

This is my housebunny Scampi. He likes to squeeze himself into small spaces (my sweater drawer being a personal favourite).
– Catherine (London, England)

Here is our persistent Springer, Mabel, who spent the first six years of her life trying to insinuate herself onto the cream vintage couch. She now owns it.
– Trish (Edmonton, AB)

This is photo of my sister’s rescue kitty Ollie. He will spend all day sunbathing on this bed and is great company for afternoon naps.
– Kaitlin (Lyndhurst, ON)

A couple of photos from me….first, Felix loves to hang out by the kitchen window and watch for squirrels and chipmunks. He was taking a break on my Eames chair when I was snapping a photo of my new fishbone cactus.

And just now while I was getting this post ready I looked to my left and spotted 4 of the 5 monsters passed out in the afternoon sun.
