Bruno Suet update

Posted on Fri, 5 Sep 2014 by KiM

World renowned French photographer Bruno Suet was featured here back in 2009 but continues to knock out photographs of spectacular interiors for some of the best magazines. To have the ability to set foot in some of these fascinatingly eclectic homes would be a dream. He is also quite talented at shooting gardens too…but more on that later. 😉

In the dog box

Inspiration for my foyer

The Design Files

I have been hearing alot here on the blog and on Instagram that I should paint my woodwork. I am seriously considering it…but not in my foyer. It would just be too much work and I think it is pretty sweet as it is, despite me being not overly fond of the colours. Jo saw this photo in a recent story on The Design Files and we immediately agreed this is going to be my inspiration. Lots of greenery – plants hanging in macramé hangers, a statement chair (if I can fit one), large art hanging on wall and over paneling, maybe some wallpaper, a large patterned rug, a cane basket, maybe this Tom Dixon light

A Maryland shore cottage

Posted on Thu, 4 Sep 2014 by KiM

We received the following email from a reader named Lloyd recently: I would like to share some photos of my dear friend’s cottage on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Charlotte Riggs is an artist, teacher and head of middle school in Northern Virginia, where she resides most of the year. She has lovingly decorated her St Michaels shore house with her own art, repurposed furniture and treasures that are meaningful to her.

This cottage is AWESOME! It is quirky and eclectic – filled with style and looks so inviting. I would happily spend a summer long weekend here. Or the whole summer in fact. Charlotte, you rock! And thank you for the great photos Lloyd!
Welcome to Charlotte’s funky getaway. 🙂 (Photos by blonde photo)
