If you would like to send me photos to include in next week’s pets on furniture post, please ensure your photos follow these basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off…and your pet happens to be sitting on it. And second, if the photo is too dark or unfocused it may not make the cut. Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to kim[at]desiretoinspire[dot]net. Thanks!
Here is our cat Gary who loves sleeping in our Ercol chair.

Tyson gets his early morning snuggles in our tea room.
– Jennifer (Hyattsville, MD)
1 – This is Izzy my 6 month old mix of all things sweet puppy snoozing on my favorite couch in my office. She likes to rest her head on a throw pillow.
2 – The painting is one of mine!
– Zoe
Attached are pictures of Mama and Baby. They were both rescued from outdoors years ago and they both remain extremely timid. Baby loves to sleep among the breakables – she is quite stealthy – not a single item has been broken.. yet.
– Donna & Peter (Allentown, PA)
Let me introduce our 2 year old Velveeta…this is a common occurrence on our vintage ottoman; from this pose she slides right to the floor 🙂
– Lori & Ty (Jersey City, NJ)
A little side note I had to share. Saturday morning my mother was outside cleaning the windows of my parents’ sunroom when my mom looked down as she was moving the ladder and spotted 2 kittens (a 2-3 weeks old perhaps) curled up one on top of the other asleep. The mom is a black and white cat who is quite timid but my folks are fairly sure she is not a stray. I am not certain what will become of these kittens (NO I am NOT taking them! but we will make sure they are safe somewhere) but for now while it’s very warm out they are being left alone so their mom can take care of them.
With more than a nod to its mid century bones a thoroughly modern home in Los Feliz Hills, Los Angeles by SIMO Design.
An old electric light station building is a perfect stage for this light infused loft. Luxe against rough, walls of books, tribal meets texture, industrial softened with fine fabrics, soaring ceilings and that light, that beautiful light. I have serious work place eny. The design studio of Thomas Hamel and Associates in Redfern, Sydney. Sigh.
This cold I have is knocking me on my ass, especially now that I am into the drippy nose/sinus ache stage so before I head back to bed I will simply leave you with this fantastic home I found on CITIZENS OF THE WORLD. It is that of Vicki Lee, artist and founder of a beautifully curated homewares shop TheTwentyTwo, and it reminds me how much I would love to live in a climate where one can easily enjoy the outdoors with lots of large windows and sliding doors. It’s that time of the week. Time to stalk the leftovers, the ones that didn’t make the cut. Call me particular, finicky, choosy and hard to please. Not quite right, bad photos, I need more photos please, house is amazing furniture is deplorable or even fab furniture shabby shell. Can’t quite put my finger on it listings with something that has me nodding “yes”. This week’s finds include a radical reno that reveals nothing from the facade, a warehouse space with a decidedly un-warehouse decor, a garage that became a house and the usual tag team of terrace houses.
