On 100 acres with a view of Lake Ontario sits The Farm. Architect Cindy Renderly‘s clients wanted something modern but appropriate for the country. A gabled roof line is in keeping with a typical barn structure, but inside it’s minimalist and not-so-farm-like. Cindy used Douglas fir plywood on the ceilings to add warmth, and it’s a beautiful choice. An artist’s studio is an added bonus, separated from the main house by a courtyard. Despite being a tad bleak looking in the winter, this must be such a peaceful retreat, especially in summer.

Such an interesting idea for the ceiling.

Wonderful!
As a Canadian living in London, England it makes me very nostalgic and want to move back right away!
However it does give me a few ideas to borrow for the new city loft penthouse apartment I will be moving into the first week of December.
I only wish that you would post floor plans for each property you show as it gives a better idea of how the spaces work together.

Too bad for that tile floors in a country with long winter.
