Stalking on a Saturday

Posted on Sat, 7 Mar 2015 by midcenturyjo

I’m stalking a grand old Victorian house in Middle Park, Melbourne. An amazing interior by Beatrix Rowe and an amazing garden by Rick Eckersley. Grand and intimate, luxurious and liveable and it could all be yours. Link to the real estate listing here while it lasts.

Bold bathrooms

Natalie Clayman sure knows how to create some drama in a bathroom, again with colour and pattern. These bathrooms are sure to shock visitors when they open the door. And I guarantee when the initial shock wears off, it will be followed by a smile.

Natalie Clayman

Bold patterns and colours is the name of the game for Tennessee interior designer Natalie Clayman. Traditional design with a modern, eclectic approach, Natalie’s spaces are fun, yet sophisticated, and very inviting. And I need that chair above. 🙂

Church conversion

Posted on Fri, 6 Mar 2015 by midcenturyjo

You all know how much Kim and I love a church conversion and this one is so pretty. In 1961, the town congregation of Glenelg, MD reunited and formed a new church leaving this landmark 1889 building abandoned. After a decade, a local architect purchased the property and transformed the space into a residence for him and his wife, a famous potter. Forward to 2012 and the building is once again neglected. Enter Stacia Smith, founder and lead designer of  Homewood Interiors and the church is given a new life as the design studio’s office and showroom. What a beautiful transformation. All the charm, all the integrity. I’m jealous. I’d love to have such a space to create. You can see some of the before and renovation pictures after the jump.

A book lover’s dream

Posted on Thu, 5 Mar 2015 by KiM

This is any book lover’s dream – tons and tons of book storage that is far from your typical row of Ikea Billy bookcases. If I had this shelving I would spend my days scouring book stores. It is the perfect excuse. By Feldman Architecture
