Chris Dyson taking you back

Posted on Wed, 18 Mar 2015 by KiM

Of course, I had to start this post off with a cat on a bed photo as I have cats on my brain these days (my 2 little ferals are breaking my heart they are so sad/scared). British architect Chris Dyson was featured here a few years ago, and continues to inspire with traditional spaces restored and modern spaces where updates are a must. But it is the traditional spaces that makes my heart skip a beat. In London how could you not want to keep this history alive when it is so absolutely gorgeous?

Stalking 2

A 70sqm apartment in an old house in Potts Point, Sydney. I’d love to see this one in real life. I’m sure the photos don’t do its personality justice. I want to sit on the quirky balcony with the owner watching the world go by. I’d also love to see the bedroom and no, that’s not a chat up line. Link here while it lasts.

The footprint is miniscule. The price tag is mind boggling. Inner city Sydney living may be tight on space but in this case it’s big on style… and parking space. I’m stalking a renovated Redfern terrace house. Link here while it lasts.

Nyla Free (again)

I spotted a few new photos in the portfolio of Calgary interior designer Nyla Free since my last feature on her work a few years. Her spaces are bold and fun so I had to share, especially because I covet that closet at the end of this post. (Photos by Lori Andrews, Avenue Mag)

A classy beach house

Soothing shades of white, cream, blue, grey and green. This is beach decor at its absolute finest, in this California beach house by interior designer Becki Owens. It is classy yet weathered, with lots of cozy upholstery and bits of sparkle and pattern to catch your eye. This is just super pretty.
