Spiral

Posted on Tue, 9 Jun 2015 by midcenturyjo

I’m in a spin, a spiral spin. I love the simplicity and elegance of this Melbourne-based Pleysier Perkins renovation. The extension to a Victorian era house is punctuated by a spiral staircase that rises through a double height void connecting the timber box above (bedrooms) to the glazed kitchen living areas. Perfection.

A delightful kitchen

Posted on Mon, 8 Jun 2015 by KiM

OMG I love this kitchen! Designed by talented Senalee Kapelevich of SVK Interior Design, this space is dreamy – creamy walls,  white cabinets offset by black countertops for a little oomph, fresh mint green accents and raw wood island top and shelving. It is perfection, and I just want to eat it up…and maybe even cook! 🙂

(I featured another of Senalee’s projects here)

Riesco & Lapres update

Posted on Mon, 8 Jun 2015 by KiM

It has been a while since my last blog feature on Vancouver interior design firm Riesco & Lapres, and their spaces continue to impress with fun and fresh creations. Pops of colour and pattern results in delightful eye candy. Here are some of my favourites from their last few projects.

P.S. Sorry – I’m short on pets on furniture entries this week. To submit photos send them to kim[@]desiretoinspire[.]net. Thanks!

In black and white

A striking transformation of a 1850’s heritage house to a black and white contemporary beauty. Carefully curated modern looks married to historic charm. A family home with good bones and knock out style. Hawthorn House by Ross Tang Architects.

Still stalking

Posted on Mon, 8 Jun 2015 by midcenturyjo

Two days on from my last post and I’m still stalking. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, steel framed glass windows and doors, fireplace,a black and white base palette warmed by oak features, tribal rugs and artwork. Outdoor space consists of a small courtyard but with its location in Armadale in Melbourne if you’re not hanging out in the cool, contemporary interiors you’ll be hitting Melbourne’s über hip cafe culture. Link here while it lasts.
