Happy Friday!

Posted on Fri, 19 Jun 2015 by KiM

I desperately want to throw some black paint on something. Photo by Debi Treloar for the book Handmade Home by Mark & Sally Bailey.

P.S. I published a post on my page yesterday mostly about some of my latest decor aquisitions. Feel free to have a peek. And Happy Friday!!!

More from Katie Martinez

Jo has featured the work of interior designer Katie Martinez a few times here but not this insanely beautiful black and white tiled bathroom. With the gold accents it is to die for, and pretty much my dream bathroom. I threw in some photos from other random projects of hers too because everything she touches is a gem.

The Water Factory

A 19th century industrial building in Melbourne’s North Fitzroy has been converted and refurbished by Andrew Simpson Architects. Now  two side by side houses the spaces are contained with the heritage listed shell and play with the idea of houses within houses with private rooms that can be open plan or contained via sliding walls and windows and a series of skylights in the ceilings that channel light and fresh air into the internal spaces. A modern, flexible family home with connection to its historic past.

P.S. Doesn’t every inner city warehouse need a red Mustang?

Rooftop oasis

Having a home in the city AND a great outdoor space is pretty much the ideal situation IMHO. This rooftop oasis by Dekar Design is the perfect getaway to enjoy summer weather, drinks and friends.

Dekar Design

Dolores Suarez and Caroline Grant are the designers behind Soho based design firm Dekar Design. They have created beautiful spaces all over the world, including several really sweet commercial spaces that I am smitten with. They are traditional/classic with a modern twist, and the result is unique and striking. I thought I would share some commercial designs too as these ladies seem to have more fun and let their hair down more in this area.
