The ultimate beach shack

Posted on Mon, 6 Jul 2015 by midcenturyjo

The view is to die for and the house is simply beautiful. I like my beach house to be relaxed and laid back but still with a certain sophistication. (Listen to me! As if I have a beach house!) Stylish, chic, private and elegant but not too precious that you can’t see kids in swim suits and towels over chairs. I’d move in here in a heart beat. Warm sun, the sound of crashing waves and that view. Amaroo at Whale Beach north of Sydney is available for holidays via Contemporary Hotels.

Dining on a Sunday

Posted on Sun, 5 Jul 2015 by KiM

Tonight I am having dinner at my parent’s house with the family to celebrate my niece’s 9th birthday. The food and the company will be great, but I will admit that a little part of me wishes I was heading out for date night with the husband to a gorgeous restaurant like Mercado de Ibiza. David Zafra, the designer, sent us these photos (we had featured another restaurant of his here) and it is quite a sight. The flooring is SO gorgeous, the lighting is spot-on (sweet Foscarini choices) and the chairs are sleek and cozy looking. I bet the food is incredible too.

Contact form troubles

Posted on Sat, 4 Jul 2015 by KiM

Hi everyone. If you are trying to get a hold of us or have been over the past couple of days it seems our contact form is not working. I would love to say it will be fixed ASAP but it seems everyone at tech support of our blog platform is off on holidays this weekend so it might be another day or 2 until this gets resolved (thanks Squarespace). You can reach us in the meantime at info[at]desiretoinspire[dot]net. Sorry for the inconvenience and have a great rest of your weekend! *** UPDATE: I switched emails for the contact form so it’s working now.

Working on a Saturday

For those of you who have to drag yourself into work on a weekend I have nothing but sympathy. I do it myself. I’d have no problem finding the motivation if my workplace looked this good. Game Design Studio, Manhattan by Sheep + Stone.

Happy Friday!

I was only going to use these first 2 photos for this post because OMG…but this Sicilan vacation home of architect Laurent Buttazzoni is so fun I had to include a few more. Via Architectural Digest France. Happy Friday! Peace out.
