Muted seaside hues, modern shapes inspired by beach cabanas and flooring reminiscent of traditional Provençal tiles form the basis for the interior of Marseille hair salon Le Coiffeur by Margaux Keller Design Studio in association with Bertrand Guillon Architecture. Once again it’s my Saturday wish that if you have to drag your sorry self into work today it’s somewhere as stylish as this.

A while back I featured some photos on my page of artKRAFT, a shop in Budapest that specializes in industrial furnishings and lighting. They recently acquired a new massive space in a warehouse that is nearly 500 m2 with 9m ceilings. I swear I would have a mild heart attack walking into this shop. What a dream! And OMG – stairs made from pallets. 🙂
For as long as I can remember I have dreamt about buying a very old home in Europe that is filled with glorious original details and maintaining that while modernizing bits as needed. This home in Italy was pretty much left intact by architecture and design firm Archiplan. Original materials were sealed to maintain their longevity, and some modern touches added to rooms like the kitchen and bathrooms. The result is stunning.
A statement macramé screen gives much needed retrolicious panache to a formerly tired 60s apartment. Hints of vintage mix with bright, contemporary pieces to give this South Yarra, Melbourne home a style boost. By MR. MITCHELL.
