Main Street Oriental Rugs

Posted on Sat, 14 Nov 2015 by KiM

I love having rugs scattered throughout my house. They are such an easy way to make a space extra cozy, and a bonus is they keep your toesies warm in the winter and as I discovered last week while emptying out my main floor, are AMAZING at keeping the noise levels down by absorbing sound. I have a few in my living room (one is under my desk so my chair doesn’t ruin the floor), one by the kitchen sink to make dish washing a little less annoying, and I want to put one on my side of the bed so when I wake up my feet don’t freeze. Main Street Oriental Rugs is a great source for oriental rugs. With a storefront in Ellicott City, Maryland, they also have an online shop, an Etsy store and you can find them on Twitter and Instagram. They carry over 3,000 rugs – high quality, hand-knotted, 100% wool and/or silk, Persian, Oriental, and contemporary style. And depending on your preference they stock both vintage and new rugs. (They even offer cleaning, repair, and restoration services if you’re in the area). Here is just a small sample of what you’ll find at Main Street Oriental Rugs

Simple lines. Clean aesthetics. Fabulous loft space. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend then fingers crossed it’s somewhere as stylish as this. The Melbourne offices of digital agency Evolution 7 by Hecker Guthrie.

Happy Friday!

Because it’s Friday, and because this is the last day I have guys in my house disrupting the peace and making a huge dusty mess (my newly stained grey floors look incredible – sneak peek on Instagram)….enjoy some eye candy from one of my favourite sources, KK Living.

City garden inspiration

Spring has sprung right into summer in my part of the world. It’s going to be a perfect weekend to get serious in my garden. I need a little inspiration for the patio just outside my kitchen and I think I’ve found just what I need. Love this courtyard garden and patio in Sydney’s Woolloomooloo by landscape architects and designers Outdoor Establishments. Alfresco dining, chilling and a great retro and reuse vibe. Don’t think I’ll need the fire pit and throw just right now but they will be perfect when the summer blast has gone. Love the big square tubs full of Sansevieria out the front too.
