The Weekender

Posted on Mon, 25 Jul 2016 by midcenturyjo

I have a proposition. Weekends should become weekdays and weekdays become one long weekend. And where would you find me if it was now the beginning of the weekend and not the work week? Why getting away from the rat race and heading to this cute as a button cottage in the Victorian spa town of Daylesford. The Weekender is the family getaway of interior designer Suzanne Cunningham of One Girl Interiors but we can rent it out for an escape as well. Now that’s the perfect plan of action for a Monday don’t you think?

Great Idea!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰
And such a beautiful, calm place. I loved every single pic.

axie says:

Count me in, too! And a spa town? Can't get better than that.

The blue garden bench on the porch! I'd know that style anywhere…I can pick one out from under a tarp while driving down the street!

We have five of them (the wood was rotted so all we really have is five pair of cast iron ends). Bought at auction for five dollars to twenty dollars each, our intention is to sandblast, have them powder-coated, and add new slats out of cedar.

All we could think of for the powder-coat was black or dark green. You've opened my eyes; we can choose any color we want for the powder-coat and then stain the cedar to match.

Not ours but the exact cast iron design:

OK, I'm going to calm down now.

It's really beautiful… I love this Lora Lamm poster but I can 't find it ๐Ÿ™

Suzanne Melton says:

Veronica, I don't find the Lora Lamm in the "usual places."

You might try sending a message to Suzanne Cunningham herself.

Veronica says:

Ok ! Thank you Suzanne

Heather says:

Where is the writing desk from? Itโ€™s perfect. ๐Ÿ™‚

midcenturyjo says:

The designer found it on eBay. It’s from the 1960s.

Heather says:

Thank you! I love it, but kind of glad itโ€™s not a mass market product.
