It’s back this week! This feature only happens when I have enough entries (that aren’t mine) so please keep sending submissions! If you would like to participate in the Monday’s pets on furniture series please send photos, your name, location and a brief description to kim[@]desiretoinspire[.]net. Thanks!
Below are a couple pics of Sandy, our ancient Italian greyhound on our sofa in Austin, TX.
– JB
Goofy who has recently found, after being in this house for almost 2 years, that if he moves the cushion on the chair he has a more comfortable spot. He has also started knocking the cushion completely off and sitting in the chair too.
– Amber (Maumelle, AR)
Attached 2 foto’s of our aged cats (siblings): Larissa taken on her favourite strategic spot LC 4 Corbusier overlooking the living room but….. orange/white Daan hidden behind B&B Italia Solo and Patricia Urquiola’s Fat Lady “ready to take-over”….
– Linda (Amsterdam)
This is my beautiful little girl Amy (5mth old Samoyed/Husky cross) – she isn’t allowed on the regular furniture much (if at all) – but sometimes we catch her snuggling up on this particular chair to watch TV! (she especially loves Dora the Explorer and Escape to the Country (UK version).
– Sue K (Australia)
My younger sister’s 2 cats Minnie and Carl. Both rescues and living out their lives in luxury. And surrounded by some pretty funky furniture.
And some from me. Where a couple of chairs and the guest bed have become favourite hangouts. 1 – Mimin loves my Green Light District leather lounge chair (covered in Homesense sheepskin). 2 – So does Phoebe. 3 – Lucky is a fan of the vintage Plycraft chair (from Wiseman + Cromwell). 4 – (Former) feral brothers Bernie and Frankie lounging on the guest bed covered in a wool rug I brought back from my last trip to Puerto Vallarta. 5 – Felix enjoying the same bed but prefers the pillows for added comfort.
In my daydreams I’m sitting here with my favourite book with only the occasional bird call to disturb my concentration. You can see more of this stunning house by Sumich Chaplin Architects here.

I’ve asked myself many times if there is a land more beautiful than my own Australia? And each time I have to admit that New Zealand is just a little more stunning. Just. The same question arises when it comes to architecture and interior design and the answer might just be the same. Just. This Barn House on the edge of the sea by Sumich Chaplin Architects has stolen my heart and may just prompt me to slip quietly across the Tasman Sea and declare myself a Kiwi. Perhaps 😉

This beautifully renovated home located in Ciutadella de Minorca, Spain makes for an ideal spot to spend the hot summers. Bright whites, tile and stained concrete floor, rustic architecture and casual furnishings have me wanting to pack my bags. This no-nonsense, leave-your-flip-flops-on decor is so inviting. *sigh* Via Micasa.
My mother is from Northern Italy and it is at the top of my travel wish list to visit (I was there once, too long ago to remember). When the opportunity does arise, I want to stay RIGHT HERE. This mountain cabin by architect Alfredo Vanotti is one of the most incredible homes I have ever seen – inside and out. A mix of concrete and wood surrounded in stone, with a magnificent view of the Italian Alps….I die. (Photos: Marcello Mariana)
And to my fellow Canadians, HAPPY CANADA DAY!
