A Swedish apartment in typical Scandinavian style

Posted on Fri, 19 Aug 2016 by KiM

This apartment for sale, located in a 1903 building in Stockholm, sings the praises of Scandinavian decor in a colour palette of lots of white, black and grey and of course, pine floors. Typical, but I still love it and will never tire of it. Makes for such pretty photos. I want to take a nap in each room. Via BOSTHLM.

Jared Hayden says:

Chromophobia: A persistent, irrational fear of, or aversion to colors. It is usually a conditioned response.

Rooms that evoke a surgical environment to my mind… just not my taste. This place needs to reach its good potentiel, I can see it.

Åsa, Gothenburg says:

Well, being Swedish I have tired of it. All styled homes on Hemnet, our biggest realestates-for-sale site, looks exactly the same. The same items, colurs (or rather lack of it) mixed with a few odd personal things. There is absolutly no individualism, just fear of not having it as everyone else. Sorry for being negative, but this is how I see it, while diving in to every home with a colourscheme that does not make you depressed!

Michelle Whitworth says:

It's very soothing and pleasant, I like it, a typical scandi look. Interior design is just like fashion, it's very personal. It's a personal expression of your own individual style. I am a big fan of traditional style with rich deep colours, and it's not everyone's cup of tea. I like all styles, Scandi, boho, indie, traditional, cotemporary, retro, modern classic etc. As long as it's well put together and co-ordinate well. I don't think we can criticise each style. I live in far far away islands of New Zealand, people here don't care so much about interior styles at all. People here tend to admire the typical Scandanavian look but always get it wrongly. Interior design can be a very educated taste. I think the most important thing about decorating a house is that it has to be you, it has to represent who you are.

I will never get tired of scandinavian style. So light and decluttered.
