Pretty in white and pastels

Posted on Thu, 24 Nov 2016 by KiM

As much as I love dark colours, this home is really beautiful in white and pretty pastels. Without a doubt it is easy on the eye and must be so relaxing to come home to after a long day. ++Scandinavian cool++. Design: Laura Melling and Portico Design Group, photos: WTFU.

Sag Harbor

When your life is frantic, when the world is pawing at you over and over and over, when you want to stop the bus and just get off remember there are oases of calm out there. Little islands of simple beauty. This is one of them. Bookmark it and open it up when you need a visual pick-me-up. Sag Harbor by Steven Gambrel.

Mostly black and white

One more project by Bryan Wark because I love the dining space above (those chairs!!!) and if I ever had doubts about painting floors white they have since vanished.

Mid-century + boho + glam

I am not sure how Los Angeles based interior designer Bryan Wark managed to mix mid-century and boho and glam elements together to create such an awesome vibe but he did and I LOVE it. This home is stunning and OMG look at all those massive windows! It’s so bright and easy on the eye yet has some fabulous statement pieces for some BLAM.

Just because it’s a family home doesn’t mean you can’t have those extra touches, the luxe finishes, the custom cabinetry, the well considered design. Sydney- based multi-disciplinary design studio The Designory gets it just right with this Bronte house. Love the open plan living, the fabulous kitchen, the rumpus room opening to the garden but most of all it’s about the details for me. Did you notice the shoe storage under the custom wardrobes?
