A colourful Sydney Pied-à-terre

This pied-à-terre by Alexandra Kidd Design starts with a classic aesthetic and ramps up the impact with bold bursts of colour. Rich pinks, reds and oranges are splashed across the living room with vivid art works and fabrics but the energy is tempered by neutral walls and floors. Watch out for the bedroom though. Yellow and fuschia reign. An apartment where small makes a big impact.

The two white vases with the gold bands gives me an idea: Dave is remodeling his office.

At the top of the walls, he's used diamond-plate sign stock "framed" with enameled black crown and chair rail.

He bought six two-drawer oak filing cabinets from three or four different auctions, removed the hardware, painted them black enamel, faced the drawers with diamond-plate sign stock, and added new drawer pulls.

The two white/gold vases give me an idea about using sign stock for other accessories in his office.
