Tara Mangini and Percy Bright of Jersey Ice Cream Co. sure do know how to add rustic, feel-good character to a home. This summer and weekend getaway in Long Island was about 10 years old and the only interesting element it had was wood beamed ceilings. This creative duo added a sense of history that would make you think this house had been in the family for decades. With pale pastels, a stunning kitchen and a bit of gorgeous Farrow & Ball wallpaper, this home now has all the character the homeowners could ask for.

The fishing village of Trancoso on Brazil’s Costa del Descubrimiento may have started as a hippie hideaway but it’s now the super trendy vacation spot. As many of our Northern Hemisphere readers have been trapped in the freezing gloom of winter I thought I’d take us all on a virtual getaway to the boho chic vacation home, Casa Tiba. I can feel the warm breeze as I lie by the pool and know that the cool, stylish interiors are only a few steps away.
I have a “thing” for lighting. Table lamps and floor lamps, wall washers and pendants. Layer upon layer of ambiant lighting. I think it’s like adding jewellery to an outfit. Little sparkles and highlights. Time for a little lighting eye candy, in particular pendants.
You can find great pendant lights for less at Destination Lighting. They are a pioneer in the light fixture industry, with roots tracing back to Seattle, Washington in 1917. With 100 years of experience featuring brick and mortar showrooms throughout the northwest, they offer thousands of lighting products that fit every need and budget. Their goal is to make every home a little brighter.
What a fun home this is by South Carolina designer Cortney Bishop. With an island beachy bohemian chic feel with a super casual vibe, this is exactly where you want to spend your summer while keepin’ it real. (And featuring the most beautifully huge fiddle leaf fig plants I have ever seen flanking the front door).

You know what I say. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend then it helps if it’s somewhere stylish. Love the juxtaposition of private and public areas in these offices in Buenos Aires by Estudio Carranza Arquitectura and Galvez Autunno. Mirrored box meeting room anyone? Cool.
