What does your personal space say about you? Are your surrounds like a window on your soul? If I looked at pictures of your home could I weave a story about who you are, your loves, your hopes, your life? Just these few images of South African designer David Strauss‘ home tells me so much yet leaves enough for me to want to know more. Mysterious, moody, artistic, lover of simple luxuries.

A’ Design Award and Competitions are organized and awarded annually and internationally in a wide range of categories. Every year, projects that focus on innovation, technology, design and creativity are awarded with the A’ Award. While realized projects find opportunities to get published, reach new markets and meet a wide range of buyers for their existing products, the organization also helps the creative minds and startups to meet with the business people to realize their product ideas. If you’d like to register for next year’s competition you can do so here.

A classic palette of creams and whites, neutrals enriched with accents of black and brown. Refined boho meets modern scandi, layers of texture, nothing cookie cutter, carefully collected. The joy of living au natural. Interiors by Los Angeles based Hannah Polskin of House of Hannah.

Elegant and classic, timeless with subtle modern touches, Henriette von Stockhausen and Jane Petti of British design firm VSP Interiors are creating drama with mostly traditional spaces (add in the occasional modern kitchen). I adore this first living room – the wallpaper is gorgeous and with the layers of furnishings and accessories it’s busy but the resulting space works and it’s fabulously bold.
… sometimes I don’t want to do minimalist Scandi white. Give me a riot of colour and pattern. See more of this amazing Laurel Canyon house by Molly Luetkemeyer of M. Design Interiors here.
