Modern with a focus on art

Posted on Thu, 20 Jul 2017 by KiM

I adore bold, statement artwork and Jenn Feldman Designs seems to be of the same opinion as evident in this sweet modern home she designed. It could have come off as clinical and without personality but with bright colours and geometric shapes featured throughout the art it is just alot of fun.

Old and new, black and white. Private and public, open and closed. Spaces rethought and ways of living defined. Shadow and light, inside and out. Opposites are intimate and custom design is considered. The Wilson Project by Brisbane-based Wrightson Stewart.

The Talbott Hotel

I spotted this architecture and design project by Kara Mann in her portfolio and thought it was fabulous. It is the Talbott Hotel in Chicago that got the makeover of a lifetime thanks to Kara’s edgy glam style. I found some photos on their Facebook page. It wasn’t pretty then but it sure is now!!!

A rustic and refined log cabin

Tammy Connor‘s impeccably curated traditional style transformed this charming log cabin with the most beautiful weathered wood into an absolute gem. Tammy’s approach of taking such a rough, rustic structure and making it look so refined yet comfortable is quite something. I adore everything about this.

Beautiful Riad

Posted on Wed, 19 Jul 2017 by KiM

A chill wind is whistling around my house, tugging on windows and licking under doors. I’m cold and miserable and need a little lift. Time for a virtual getaway. Ah Morocco can you get anymore perfect? Sunshine sliding down smooth plaster walls, dappled shadows on plunge pools, mid century classics mixed with medina finds. A beautiful escape to the Beautiful Riad Marrakesh.
