An office converted into an elegant apartment

Posted on Thu, 12 Oct 2017 by KiM

My obsession for London-based interior designer Hubert Zandberg‘s work continues with the complete redesign of this office space in Marylebone, London into a 2-story apartment. Classy, Hollywood Regency-esque with elegant and sophisticated details that have me swooning.

Kitchen envy – latest from Henrybuilt

Posted on Thu, 12 Oct 2017 by KiM

Henrybuilt. What kitchen dreams are made of. I have been a huge fan of this American company’s work for years (previous feature here) and I continue to be impressed with their craftsmanship and attention to detail. And I am still dreaming of the day I can have my own Henrybuilt kitchen. Given the minuscule size of my current kitchen, I totally understand the importance of having a place for everything and having functional cabinetry. Half of my cabinets are a pain in the ass to access which is ridiculous given I don’t have enough storage space to begin with. These folks would solve all my problems. I get so giddy just thinking about what they could do to my kitchen. Not only do they create dream kitchens but interactive wall panels, wardrobes, bathrooms and furniture and anything else you could want built out of wood.

The photo above and the next few highlight Henrybuilt’s attention to detail. These photos feature their vertical bar block and partition wall. Both offering awesome storage solutions in spaces that would have probably remained unused. LOVE!!!

Even their drawer inserts delight me to no end.

Stalking the Sydney suburb of Paddington a house caught my eye. “Don’t I know you from somewhere?” I mused. I’m sure I’ve been inside before. Then I remembered that I had featured this house by Aileen Sage Architects before. I loved it then and I love it now. It’s great seeing how the house and the family have matured over the past few years especially the garden. I also like seeing how a real estate agent perceives the property as opposed to the architect’s portfolio photos. Link here while it lasts.

A classy San Francisco home

Ken Fulk – keeping San Francisco classy with his event planning and designer prowess. Why not stick your fiddle leaf fig on top of a cabinet? I adore the portrait gallery wall in the sitting room. If your stairs needs sprucing up, faux zebra is where it’s at! And of course I have to bring up the extra large black and white stripes as a simple and effective dose of drama.

The London home of Bentley Hagen Hall

Bentley Hagen Hall is the U.K.-based architectural and interior design practice of Louis Hagen Hall and Catherine Verna Bentley, and this is their London home. It may be compact but it’s loaded with bohemian, mid-century style and is an absolute delight to the eyes. Photos: India Hobson.
