A Swedish style cottage in the American woods

How lovely is this simple 19th century cottage nestled among the trees in upstate New York? The refurbishment and extension of original building has seen the architect owner add a fresh Scandinavian touch, like a summerhouse a long way from Sweden. A pared back home, almost minimalist – Stanfordville Cottage by Larson and Paul.

Beth says:

I would move there in a heartbeat.

Karen says:

Simplicity at its finest – with a pop of interesting and fun colors – there is only 1 thing in the whole place I don't like the mustard chair lol

Italo says:

@karen

I agree with you… the mostard chair is too modern to the whole house!

JCD says:

The Egg™ is one of the triumphs of Jacobsen’s total design – a sculptural contrast to the building’s almost exclusively vertical and horizontal surfaces. The Egg sprang from a new technique, which Jacobsen was the first to use; a strong foam inner shell underneath the upholstery. Experience originality and timeless design with the Egg in fabric and indulge in its sculptural curves that will last for generations. When Arne Jacobsen in the end of the 1950ies designed the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, he too created the Egg™, the Swan™, the Swan Sofa™, the Series 3300™ and the Drop™. With this furniture Arne Jacobsen wrote history within Danish design worldwide. I love all the accents especially the Egg chair from Fritz Hansen.

This is seriously so beautiful! Love it!
