Welcome to Dennis Severs’ house

Posted on Tue, 6 Feb 2018 by KiM

Jo featured this home quite some time ago but as it is one of the most magical homes I have ever seen I wanted to share it again, with more breathtaking photos. Welcome to Dennis Severs’ house.

Dennis Severs’ House at 18 Folgate Street, Spitalfields is more than just a time capsule. It is both a breathtaking and an intimate portrait of the lives of a family of Huguenot silk-weavers from 1724 to the dawn of the 20th Century. As you follow their fortunes through the generations, the sights, smells and sounds of the house take you into their lives. It was Dennis Severs’ intention that as you enter his house it is as if you have passed through the surface of a painting, exploring with your senses and imagination a meticulously crafted 18th Century world.

It’s just a hallway I hear you say. It’s just a staircase. Yet I’m crushing heavily on these normally neglected areas. In the hands of Moscow-based Malyeva Interiors the monochromatic spaces are crisp, refined, divine. Such timeless beauty.

Cape Cod in Missouri

It looks like it could be beachside Nantucket but instead it’s lakeside in St. Louis, Missouri. A base of crisp, bright white is enhanced with pops of colour, vintage finds and handcrafted touches with visual interest added through texture and patina. This serene family vacation home could have looked staged and cheesy in the wrong hands. Instead the Amy Studebaker Design project has a casual elegance, a coastal charm.

As for the secondary sale, the sale contract between the buyer and seller is registered with the DLD, outlining the terms and conditions of the agreement.

7- Title Deed Transfer

For off-plan property direct from the developer, title deeds are usually issued at the developer’s office, whereas the resale of the off-plan property, the seller applies for a NOC from the developer. As for the secondary sale, if the buyer and seller are GCC nationals, The DLD conducts the transfers, others are done by a Real Estate Registration Trustee. All transfers are either held at the office of a Real Estate Registration Trustee or at the developer’s office. Upon obtaining the title deed, the buyer will get the property’s keys and access cards to the new property.
