Green with envy

Posted on Tue, 19 Jun 2018 by midcenturyjo

Straight to the inspiration files. That’s what I thought when I saw this lovely farmhouse kitchen by Jaclyn Peters Design. The unusual grey green cabinets,  vertical shiplap walls, the warm wood accents especially at the end of the island, the wide white oak floorboards and black accents. A fabulous space to prepare meals and for family and friends to gather.

Hotel Sanders

Posted on Tue, 19 Jun 2018 by midcenturyjo

I know it’s only Tuesday. The week has just begun but I have a hankering to get away, to pack my suitcases and check into a luxury hotel awash with as much  nostalgia as design cred. Muted greens, browns and golden hues, mid century vibes, warm wood mixed with rattan (it’s even on the hallway ceiling) and a sense of good times, good living and simple elegance. I’m checking into Copenhagen’s Hotel Sanders by London-based design duo Lind + Almond. I’ll meet you in the bar.

Blue and grey

I put it out there on Instagram over the weekend that I hate the colour blue. And because of that I repainted the walls in my kitchen from blue to a deep brownish red. Also to note I did comment that I occasionally come across a blue cabinet kitchen that I think works really well. This home featuring a blue cabinet kitchen by Michigan-based designer Jean Stoffer Design are one of those “works really well” situations. In fact throughout the home are accents in various shades of blue and I quite like it.

This is Weego enhancing the decor on a sunny spring afternoon. She’s a formerly feral rescue who has been almost totally tamed over 10 years. Her sister Harvie is probably splayed on the sofa out of sight.

My name is Luíse Schilling Becker, I´m from Brazil and I love Cats!!!

Some from me…It was a really hot day when I found Frankie and Phoebe sprawled on my Moooi rug. And Felix is not much of a helper when I’m trying to get work done.

Real estate stalking in Stockholm

Posted on Sun, 17 Jun 2018 by KiM

I spotted this fabulous and spacious apartment for sale in Stockholm via Lagerlings and had to share. The detail in the hardwood floors is TO DIE FOR, the moldings, the elegant bathrooms, the neutral colour scheme also have captured my heart. And for reasons I can’t quite figure out, I am obsessed with the curtains in the main living spaces.
