An elegant mix of old and new is at the heart of this home by French-born Californian-based interior designer Florence Livingston of Florence Choux Livingston Interiors. It is a home with soul, a serene oasis for family and friends with its neutral palette of greys and taupes and those beautiful limed floorboards.  What a wonderful home to come home to at the end of a hectic day.

As eclectic and creative as its owner, photographer and film director Cindy Sherman, this East Hampton home by Billy Cotton is funky, fab and free spirited. Another great example of traditional with a twist where the textiles, rugs and wallcoverings are the heroes. Country chic that is unpretentious and comfortable.

Sharing another Chicago-based interior designer today. One of my absolute favourites = Kara Mann. Her subtle edginess always rocks my works, and she can even manage to make a traditional Nantucket cottage look cool.

Chicago-based interior designer Alessandra Branca is mixing things up in unconventional ways. Mostly traditional furnishings are paired with bold floral and striped patterns, and some fairly bright colours. Taking things up a notch by creating spaces that are approachable yet elegant.

It’s one of my favourite styles these days. Traditional with a twist. Sophisticated but with a touch of whimsy. Elegant with a pop of the unexpected. Historical references and a touch of modern muscle. It’s interior designer Bennett Leifer‘s own Manhattan apartment.
