A refined and relaxed family home

Posted on Thu, 2 Aug 2018 by midcenturyjo

Imagine a 3o’s era Tudor style home in Seattle and light and bright are not the first words that spring to mind. This Seattle home redesigned by Amanda Grace Interiors is a modern yet timeless family home, simple yet elegant, refined and relaxed. Oh and full of beautiful light.

Hotel Casa Telmo

Located in the centre of Mahon in Menorca, Casa Telmo is a beautiful boutique hotel with only 5 rooms and therein lies my problem. I just cannot choose which room I would want to stay in. Oh hang on a minute. That’s not a problem. I’ll just make sure I stay at least 5 days, one in each one. Hotel Casa Telmo designed by Quintana Partners.

A San Francisco bachelor pad

Posted on Wed, 1 Aug 2018 by KiM

This bachelor is bound to score some dates with his fantastic pad in San Francisco designed by Studio MunroeThis single level three bedroom home for a 20-something bachelor needed to respect its classic Edwardian detailing while channeling the spirit and lifestyle of its young owner and the dynamic surrounding neighborhood.  Unexpected wallpaper, deep jewel toned paint, and a mix of bespoke furnishings did the trick. Habachy Designs

It has been years since we have featured some spaces designed by Michael Habachy (here and here). It appears that in almost 10 years he still remains true to his signature style – as Jo had put it, it’s glamorous and broody, high end and hedonistic, OTT and fab. I would say he has toned things down a bit, and gone a bit less OTT and a bit more elegant, and not quite so dark. In the end it is more liveable and easy on the eye.
