It has been quite a while since we featured the work of London interior design studio Kia Designs so a big thanks to Miriam for sending over these photos of one their latest projects. This newly built 3 bedroom apartment in Fitzrovia is sophisticated and luxurious, yet comfortable. Such beautiful rich colours (that mustard/gold sofa!) and bold patterns (those curtains!) that add drama and warmth.

Darlinghurst Terrace

Posted on Mon, 25 Feb 2019 by midcenturyjo

Take a narrow inner city Sydney terrace house. Strip it to its stone walls and carefully construct a minimalist dream home. A limited colour palette of black and white tempered by sandstone walls and blonde timbers provides the perfect stage for statement furniture pieces and lighting. What could be stark instead is full of beautiful vignettes. Darlinghurst Terrace by Tom Mark Henry.

Fire Island House

Posted on Mon, 25 Feb 2019 by midcenturyjo

It’s a feeling of expansive space that strikes you even though this Fire Island house is less than 150 square meters. Walls of glass blur the line between inside and out while allowing cross ventilation on a hot summer day. Double height living room and colour blocking provide drama in what essentially is a minimalist, neutral box. A summer getaway by Hirsch Corti Architecture.

An architect’s apartment in Berlin

Posted on Sun, 24 Feb 2019 by KiM

I spotted this apartment on Yatzer yesterday and had to share because it is quite feminine, has lots of terrazzo which I am currently obsessed with, pink kitchen cabinets and a velvet and fringe sofa! Oh – and an incredible rooftop terrace! What’s not to love?! I hope you enjoy the Berlin apartment of architect Ester Bruzkus. (Photos: Jens Bösenberg)

Chillin’ on a Saturday

It’s not always about work on a Saturday. Sometimes it’s all about hanging with friends and I couldn’t think of a better place than C.C. Babcoq (Rotisserie, Carvery & Cocktails) by Tom Mark Henry.
