A modern stone house in Spain

Posted on Mon, 6 May 2019 by midcenturyjo

It’s hard to believe but this house in Girona, Spain was built in 2009. Ten years on the design is as fresh and stylish as ever. I must admit as much as I love the interiors that vegetable patch and all the stone walls is so inspiring. By Barcelona-based GCA Architects.

Pink and purple

Posted on Sun, 5 May 2019 by KiM

Shades of pink and purple – aubergine and dusty rose – can be found throughout the apartment of Daniele Daminelli of Studio2046 that he shares with his wife and 2 children. Located in an over 100 year old building in Treviglio, Northern Italy, each room is one of these moody shades and then mixed with other colours found in an eclectic assortment of rugs, chairs and sofas. I found a few features of this gorgeous apartment while googling and it is very interesting to see the different iterations that have taken place. I’ve always loved suspended fireplaces, their fat bulbous bodies hanging in space. Imagine my reaction (a gasp and a happy squeal) when I went virtual real estate strolling scrolling and found one hanging in a glass box, well a glass walled extension anyway. I’m in the Melbourne suburb of Prahran checking out a period home with a modern open-plan addition which spills into a low maintenance garden. You’ll find it here while the link lasts.

A renovated family home in Beverly Hills

Fresh, fun and family-friendly is how I would describe this beautiful renovated home by Veneer Designs. A full remodel on an outdated family home was started in 2016 with space planning the reconfiguration of two floors. Moving onto designing the new kitchen, 5 bathrooms, and all the details in between. When construction was coming to an end in early 2018 we jumped in to furnish and decorate the sparkly new interior with a mix of vivid glam furnishings, modern accents, and bold color combinations. The gracious new home is the perfect backdrop for the vivacious family of four to host large gatherings in. Photos: Marisa Vitale

And I had to include this before photo because this may be the worst kitchen I have ever seen!

Spinzi Design is an interior and furniture design firm based in Milan whose portfolio caught my eye recently and I had to share some of the spaces. This is a random assortment from several projects, showing their versatility with different styles such as modern, contemporary and traditional.
