I first featured this kitchen back in 2014 and thought it was just about perfect. Kim dropped back in a couple of years later when there had been a slight change but now it’s undergone a stylish renovation, The blue has gone replaced by a sage green (Farrow & Ball’s Green Smoke), the tiles inside the upper cabinets are now a dusty pink herringbone and brass handles complete the look. The perfect kitchen is just a bit more perfect. 6ixteen by Blakes London.
Classic and timeless, elegant and sophisticated, neutral and serene. A delicious sampling from several projects by interior designer Amy Meier.
If your idea of summer fun is hanging out, mixing drinks and chilling out by a firepit, then this backyard space is for you. Another really well executed design by the very talented Fig Landscapes. You’ll be the cool kid in the neighbourhood with a space like this.
I’m real estate strolling scrolling in the inner Melbourne suburb of Collingwood and have found a 2 storey apartment with roof top terrace that the agent describes as a penthouse. Yes it is at the top of the building so I guess it is a penthouse but that word to me conjures up images of opulent rooms, extravagant space, luxurious living. Don’t get me wrong. There are many things I like about this contemporary inner city pad. Being at the top means there is a handy roof terrace with great views. The building has interesting brass accents and the kitchen is a definite favourite with its sleek black lines. Simple yet very stylish. Your idea of a penthouse? Or should we just agree that it’s fab inner city pad? Link here while it lasts.
We have been quite the fans of Brooklyn-based architectural and design studio Elizabeth Roberts Architects for many years now (previous posts here). Roberts’ work is considered, authentic and simply stated, beautiful. Nowhere is that more obvious an in this 3 storey townhouse gut renovation and addition. The soaring double height kitchen with its almost spartan luxury, the aesthetically pleasing spiral of the staircase, the juxtaposition of the historic and the new. Love.
