Tamsin Johnson encore

Posted on Thu, 8 Aug 2019 by midcenturyjo

Her work is sophisticated and chic, eclectic, at times dramatic and always imbued with quality and beauty. There is not a single thing I would change in this Sydney home … except the owner. That should be me. Edgecliff Rd by  Tamsin Johnson.

P.S. If I can’t have the home can I have the Ultrafragola Mirror by Ettore Sottsass?

Dark drama in an apartment in France

I wanted to share another apartment by Lyon-based designer Claude Cartier and this one is at the opposite end of the spectrum from the last post. This one has a definite masculine vibe with hard edges, dark colours and no pink in sight! Black, green and yellow are the colour pallette and are really beautiful and dramatic together. And this one feels “Parisian”.

Feminine glam in an apartment in France

If you’re a fan of glamourous and dramatic interiors with a feminine touch I think you’re going to love this renovated apartment by Lyon, France designer Claude Cartier. Pink, grey, black, white and an unexpected touch of blue make for a beautiful colour palette. If I didn’t love Cole & Son’s Fornasetti Nuvolette wallpaper before I’m now DYING to use it on a ceiling. Also, the photo above is a great example of hot to use paint in a simple yet unique way. STUNNING!!!

Blue sky delight

Posted on Tue, 6 Aug 2019 by midcenturyjo

It’s that time in Australia where winter skies are the brightest blue and the days warm enough to believe that winter might just be over. Doors thrown open, water views that sparkle, days that lengthen, promises of summer fun made. I can’t think of a better place to farewell winter, embrace spring and dream of a long, long summer than this beautiful Vaucluse, Sydney house with the charming name of Bohemia.
