What do you get when you pair a modern white loft in Seville, Spain with a designer who has a passion for 17th to 19th century decor? An unexpected clash of styles that is quite dramatic. By Amaro Sánchez de Moya.

We don’t typically post renderings but when it’s this fabulous I’m making an exception. Utkan Gunerkan is an Istanbul-born architect based in Milan, Italy, and this bathroom and kitchen are for projects in Puerto Vallarta, my favourite place on earth. They are SO much fun and graphic and creative. If I could make these come true in my home I’d die. And I think it was meant to be seeing as I just replaced my dining room chandelier with one that is turquoise, a colour I never use.

This four storey Georgian town house is a wonderful mix of new and old. Think contemporary kitchen with poured concrete floors, flashes of retro orange, moody rooms in the older part of the house, vintage finds and a myriad of house plants. Fun, flirt and fab. The bedroom features a sofa bed, the bathroom is best described as retro but that it’s the kitchen that has Airbnb guests coming back again and again. The perfect Parisian pad to cook up a feast for 12 (and have room for them to sit down) or perhaps teach a class or style a photo shoot. It’s gone to the top of my travel bucket list. I spotted this home on AD Russia and it stopped me in my tracks. Ukrainian architect Sergey Makhno built this home for his family, to showcase his love of Ukranian and Japanese design, and his incredible ceramic collection. Each room is more incredible than the next. I adore this.
