Contemporary Hamptons style in Hampton

“The Hampton project was a total renovation of an existing 1920’s Californian Bungalow in a Heritage Overlay precinct. It included a second storey addition, total internal update of all rooms, inground pool and landscaping and garage.”

And when I say Hampton I mean the suburb of Hampton in Melbourne. The renovation was purposely for resale but that didn’t stop Michelle Hart of Bask Interiors from creating the dream family home with a Hamptons with a modern twist interior.

These bland Australian interiors are taking over!

Everything looks too coordinated, curated and not collected. This “look” is a favourite of home stylists employed to make a property more saleable resulting in cookie-cutter sameness – beyond boring imo…

I believe it’s staged for resale, so wouldn’t have a ‘collected’ look. It’s spare and clean which helps me imagine my own style working here. I think it’s a lovely home. Love the wine closet!
