A modern A-frame cabin

Posted on Tue, 7 Apr 2020 by KiM

For the moment city living is working for me…. But give me a cabin in the woods, and a modernized 1974 A-frame at that, and I think I could make the switch quite easily. Maybe just for weekends so I could enjoy the best of both worlds? Sounds like the perfect plan 🙂 This stunner is located 1.5 hours outside of San Francisco, designed by Studio PLOW.

Those complicated light fittings really spoil that lovely kitchen. The worst thing is they probably cost a fortune!

Other than that, what a beautiful forest house.

love A-frames.
this ones nicely done but could use a little less of a white wash.

A steeply-pitched roof does not an A-Frame make. This house style is a chalet. “An A-frame is an architectural house or building featuring steeply-angled sides (roofline) that begin at or near the foundation line, & meet at the top in the shape of the letter A.” An A-Frame does not have any exterior walls on the sides.
