Just because you live in a small space doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style. Or comfort. This is the 350 sq ft Upper West Side apartment of Natasha Nyanin, designed by her friend, interior designer Nina Blair (NinaBDesign). (Photos: Nathaniel Johnston). Tons of personality, a dining table that seats 6 (the bench is brilliant as it easily acts as extra living room seating), a kitchen with dreamy open shelving, and a sexy bathroom complete this awesome tiny space.

In a comment the other day an American reader of ours begged us to show some style mixed with warmth and humanity (aka: lived in). Given the horror show that went on there I felt compelled to oblige. I spotted this apartment in a highrise in Moscow on The Village and thought it was perfect to share. This could not be more warm, lived-in, practical, full of life, overflowing with a beautiful energy thanks to bright colours and lots of vintage finds. My thoughts are with my neighbours to the south and I hope this brings a smile to your faces.

I don’t know why I’m obsessed with kitchens. My own renovation was completed 18 months ago and kitchens should not be on my radar but this contemporary space by Brit based Naked Kitchens has got me all excited. Traditional materials like walnut and Cararra marble are given a modern twist that is sophisticated and fresh.
