In the heart of Colle Oppio, within a historic 1900s building, Rome-based architecture and interior design studio Punto Zero worked its magic on a traditional 115 sqm apartment the home of its founder Giorgio Marchese. The original layout was a classic linear design with rooms all facing outward. However, the space was completely transformed with new volumes and unexpected additions all in the quest for light and the amazing views.

Our Belgian midcentury project introduces a modern European take on a 3,100 sq foot gambrel colonial-style home primely located in Rhode Island. This house had been built in the 80s, filled with a lot of builder grade finishes and half finished renovations leaving a rather fragmented starting point for our clients. This project’s intention was an effort to sew the fragments back together whilst creating a greater connection – a sense of purpose for the home and its stewards. Here we wanted to go back to the beginning — working with natural earthen materials crafted by local artisans from tadelakt, to fine cabinet making, furniture joinery, hand forged iron work and detailed custom upholstery.
This home by Moore House Design is so tactile and filled with such exquisite fabrics and finishes. You don’t need drama with colour or pattern in a situation like this. The materials selected are dramatic in their simple beauty. Photos: Erin Little.

The owners of this semi-detached home in Dublin, Ireland approached interior design studio (and interior + lifestyle store) April and the Bear to refresh and modernize their dated and boring family home. The design team refurbished most rooms and injected some personality with new paint and wallpaper, bespoke furniture and wall beading, new carpets, curtains, furniture and lighting. The result is very much family-friendly, provides lots of storage, has a really “now” vibe and is a huge improvement from what they started with. This other-worldly château in Bourg Achard, Caumont, France is a total dream. 600 sq. m of living space, as well as a 228425 sq. m of gardens. There are 7 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a caretaker’s house (and a guest house?), the landscaping is impeccable and magazine-worthy and the interior is like stepping back in time, and quite beautifully designed which is unexpected compared to most châteaus I come across. (Also gimme all the terracotta hex tile flooring!!!) It does not appear like you would need to do a thing but move in! For sale via Sotheby’s for 2,700,000 €.
