This project for a retired couple downsizing from a large family home focused on minimal intervention and maximum impact. Inspired by the couple’s artwork and furniture, the design reshaped the Spanish Mission House to suit their lifestyle. Improvements included enhancing natural light in living spaces, creating a welcoming entrance, and updating the kitchen. Colour theory and collaboration with the clients produced calming greens, bold blushes, and moody corks. The eclectic interior celebrates the home’s unique features with a blend of modern convenience and traditional elements. Spanish Mission House by Melbourne and Brisbane-based Lande Architects.

On the old road leading to Aosta, less than an hour from Turin, on top of a rocky outcrop overlooking the small village below and the beautiful countryside in the mountains of Piedmont and Aosta Valley is located the Castello di Montestrutto. It was built in neo-Gothic style around a tower of the 9th century. A panoramic staircase leads to the castle’s garden. The property, of about 800 square meters, internally consists of a large entrance, frescoed with scenes that reflect the history of the Castle, a richly decorated hallway, a living room and a large dining room with adjacent kitchen. On the first floor there are the stateroom, a studio room, the master bedroom and several other bedrooms. The castle is in excellent condition and it is currently used as tourist accommodation.
It seems this 8 bedroom 3 bathroom castle (listed by Sotheby’s International Realty) has since sold which is a good thing because I am completely smitten. From the details inside to the views outside and the magical exterior…..
It’s like I say week in week out. If you have to drag yourself into work on a weekend it helps if it’s somewhere stylish and what’s more stylish than a designer’s own offices. Smac Studio Office, Paddington, Sydney by interior architects Smac Studio.

This cozy layered home speaks of joy, depth, and a journey beginning. Beautiful archways and vintage furnishings give the abode endless charm. A compilation of vintage, earthiness, and fine finishes. At last, the charming home finally lives up to its striking environment.
I loooooooooove this 1920s Craftsman bungalow in the Virginia Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta Georgia. It has EVERYTHING – vintage vibes, stripes, florals, light and dark, colour and neutrals. Something for everyone! By Avery Cox Design. Photos: Lawren Williams.
I wanted to share another fabulous apartment by Tristan Domecq that caught my eye. This one has a bit of a mystical, dream-like quality of understated elegance as Tristan does, with some random unexpected pieces here and there (like the “fat lava” MCM lamp in the second photo). That fireplace, the moldings throughout, arched doors and that kitchen island all help make this spectacular.
