Raw beauty

It’s not for everyone I will give you that. Some of you will be reaching for a paintbrush or even a contractor to rip it all out but there is a simple, rustic beauty in these rooms that really appeals to me. I love the honesty, the history, the patina of each space. As for that little kitchen … swoon! And it’s for sale (in London at London prices). The Coach House via The Modern House.

I couldn’t figure out how to get out of the kitchen.
Then, I saw it…walk through the dining room, down the stairs (photos 4 and 6), and into a bedroom (photos 8 and 9).

I think it’s a living room with a day bed that has been dressed more like a bed than a couch. You’ll notice the piano and the chairs with coffee table at the other end of the room. I’m sure though that the flow seems quite strange in the house as it is probably its 18th or 19th century layout. Just look at how the second bedroom is off the first.

That was very interesting. I imagined David Copperfield peering through the window.The original one and I know he is fictional. I too love the kitchen. I found the bedrooms a little cold.
