Dog on a cowhide

Posted on Tue, 26 Feb 2008 by KiM

Typically when we post animals, it’s “dog on a chair” or “dog on a couch”….this time, it’s a dog on a cowhide. And this I had to post for 3 reasons. First, this photo was sent by Jessica, of The World According to Jessica Claire, who has more animals than I do. 4 cats (2 sphynx and 2 cornish rex), 2 dachshunds and a great dane. INSANITY! Makes me want to go out and get a dog. Second, it’s a photo of Jessica’s great dane. I have wanted a great dane for a LONG TIME. Third, Jessica’s harlequin dane Leya matches the freaking rug. FABULOUS!!! Thanks Jessica!

Hansen Living

Susan, kitchen designer extraordinaire and fellow blogger wrote to us about an incredible line of cabinetry from Denmark she will be introducing to the U.S. It is by Hansen Living, designed by Danish architect Knud Kapper. She is currently in Copenhagen attending an event for the firm and thought our readers would like a peek. This is cabinetry worthy of a dream kitchen and I am totally smitten with it. I’ve always loved cabinetry that appear as separate pieces of furniture and this is a perfect example. Not only is it gorgeous but it’s eco-friendly, and is available in plantation-teak, walnut, ash and oak. What a difficult choice that would be, as they are all stunning. Susan, we wish you lots of success with this new product, but I don’t think you need it. These photos speak for themselves.

Wayne Vincent is an incredible photographer with photos of some quirky, eclectic and simply fab interiors under his belt, shot for magazines such as House & Garden and Living Etc. Hard to choose a favourite, but there’s something about that photo above…modern and understated but perfectly coordinating.

We received an email the other day from Terrence, a former advertiser on DTI who is currently working on developing an online magazine called Design Book dedicated to trend setting & contemporary architectural, interior, product and fashion design. He is gathering a group of contributors for the debut issue, so if any writers, designers, or photographers are interested in contributing their design views to his publication, please check out Design Book Magasine.
