My favourite red room is by Betsy Burnham. I know a lot of you are already familiar with her work but it is remiss of me not to give her the full credit her work deserves and do another post. Betsy commented on the red room post and said she was doing a new house for the lucky client who gets to work in that fabulous room. She also revealed that she has new photos of recent work but hasn’t found the time yet to update her website. Please do Betsy. I know we’d all love to see more of your amazing work. For those of you who have never been to Burnham Design’s wonderful website you’re in for a treat.
This is the apartment of Christopher Coleman. Graphic, layered, lush and quirky. Great ideas for a small space. Black has never looked so good. That striped shelving unit is a Lack bookcase and some coloured tape! And what about those metal ball curtains.
Tom Gunkelman and Andrew Flesher are the creative force behind Minneapolis interior design firm Gunkelman Flesher. They combine clean and functional designs with a bit of the unexpected to create commercial and residential spaces that appear to have evolved with the client. As their website says “We believe that good design is timeless in both function and nature.” Read Andrew Flesher’s HGTV article “6 Ways to Jazz Up Your Home” here.
More ideas to help you have sweat dreams. Most of you will be reading this while I am fast asleep. Strange how people on the other side of the world share these images with me. But fun!
I love this room. The red, the mix of patterns, styles, textures. The layering is amazing, the room so lush. If you have a little time this long weekend then spend a little savouring the beauty of Betsy Burnham’s amazing rooms. Even if you’ve been there before, it’s worth another look. Beautiful! Inspiring!
