WINKS – weekend links. Here we list what has come in during the week, things we’ve found and things we think you’ll want to see. If you’d like to see your blog or website featured email us and if we think it fits with our readers we’ll link you. So what’s in this week?

• Modern eco-friendly furniture designed and made in Atlanta Georgia. Joe Manus calls it dirty, sexy, clever and dark. He named it Shiner (as in black eye). I call it stylish.

• It’s about snuggling up on the couch with a gorgeous pillow, using the good napkins everyday, having a pretty tea towel hanging in the oven door. It’s about Pony Rider.

• Futé, it’s French for smart, sharp, clever. Stunning contemporary lifestyle furniture. Summer lounging, drinks by the pool, hot furniture for a hot summer. 

• Just a taste of the magic that awaits you at Resign, a  collective of young designers based in Faenza (Italy) whose work is steeped in the symbolic value of objects. Wonderful pieces!

Can I describe photographs as clean and minimal? Refreshingly simple but cleverly composed. Spare elegant spaces captured in an instant. Messages cleverly conveyed through a lens. This room is graceful, that design is effortless, unforced and natural. All these thoughts tumble through my mind as I view photographer Mark Eden Schooley’s work. Honest and beautiful. Real and remarkable. P.S. Has green ever been so beautiful?

Pleasant surprises come in all forms including comments on blogs that lead to websites and on to gorgeous rooms. I love the casual natural mix part costal, a little french, a little farmhouse, lots of earthy textures and relaxed family style of these spaces by interior designer Lyndsy Woods of L Kae Interiors. So livable and so lovely. And I found her because of a comment. Don’t you love the internet?!

A Georgian house. A teeny tiny Georgian house. Just those first two windows wide. They call it a “pied a terre” on the real estate website. Two bedrooms, two floors, elegant french style interiors, high ceilings, painted timber floors, two fireplaces, slate roof and sandstock exterior walls. Why am I so excited? I love Georgian buildings, something about their spare, elegant lines but they are so rare in Australia. After all the British colonised this country only in 1788 and Sydney was a rough and ready town well into the first quarter of the 19th century. These little gems are so rare. A truly beautiful little house in a superb suburb. Mind you it may not have been such elegant living in the early 1800s. Maybe my love of Georgian is from a romanticised and sanitised 21st century perspective. Still it’s so cute I just want to pinch it’s little house cheeks!

Passion and a love. A belief in beauty and the dreams of a child. Cameras and travel and pictures and passion and a love. A love of photographs and images of other worlds, other people. Photographer Sarah Dorio’s work is all about a journey from her first camera at age eight to these gorgeous images of stunning homes. You see it’s Sarah’s passion that makes these rooms “pop”. (Oooh am I actually going to say passion pop? Ooooh yes I did!) The heart and soul of photographers are often seen in the images they capture. Do these rooms speak to you? Maybe because Sarah Dorio caught their essence through her lens.
