WINKS – weekend links. Here we list what has come in during the week, things we’ve found and things we think you’ll want to see. If you’d like to see your blog or website featured email us and if we think it fits with our readers we’ll link you. So what’s in this week?

•  Swooning over the latest wallpaper range from Thibaut.  With organic textures and surfaces Natural Resource captures the essence of the outdoors and brings it inside. My bells are ringing for the cork and faux croc.

• Hello my little french lovelies! Paris map cushions from Bonjour Mon Coussin. Long live the map trend because I can’t get enough.

• Think theatrics. Think drama. Think a luxurious screen. Why reveal the obvious when with a little opulence wrapped up as a screen can hide the everyday. The Hide and Seek screen by Munna Design. Actually if luxe is your thing check out the rest of their collection.

 

 

• Finally more divine rugs.  Alex Perry, Australian fashion designer, has created a new range for Designer Rugs. It’s high end fashion with lashings of Greek references. Perry is of Greek heritage after all. These are so rock and roll glam. Statement pieces no doubt. I want I need.

… but the inspiration stays the same! After almost 3 years we have changed home. Kim and I are so excited. We’ve changed a few things, added more pages and made it so much easier to find your way around the blog. (Hello previous pages!!!!) Welcome to our new home. Hope you like the layout. Look up above. You’ll find tabs to take you all sorts of places. That’s our feed subscription to the right. (Don’t forget to re-subscribe as our old blogspot address just won’t bring you all the new room porn we’ll be posting here.) Page loading should be so much easier especially for our readers in areas of the globe without great internet connection (5 posts a page, not too many pictures to load). And speaking of pages. Look! Down below… pages! Yes I’m so excited. Can’t you tell I’m not a computer geek?  Head to our labels section, click on a label and every post we’ve ever done with that label will appear, page after page. It sounds so simple but we’ve never had that before. I’m like a kid in a candy store with our new blog and hopefully you’ll feel the same. Take a look around, take it for a test drive. Dreaming. Dreaming of these other worldly spaces captured by photographer Dylan Thomas. (I couldn’t help the reference to his famous namesake.) The images are strong, bold. Almost like a peeping tom, the viewer is drawn into the photos. I am in awe of the red (the home of Lord Snowdon – Thomas was his assistant for 5 years), enticed by the faded glamour. The rest of his portfolio is as intriguing, as potent.

When I first found Tim Clinch’s portfolio last year I was taken by the way he captured the essence of the European homes in his photographs. You could almost feel the warm summer breeze in the south of France, hear insects throbbing in the olive trees, smell the coffee wafting from the local cafe. He has an uncanny ability to transport you to another world, a romantic world, a chic getaway for daydreaming. The new shots on his website have me dreaming all over again.

Maura McEvoy tells a story every time she takes a photograph. She captures light, senses colour and composes just the right shot. The story telling is no accident. Maura studied journalism. Neither is her ability to pull together the perfect shot. She was a stylist before taking over behind the lens. Beautiful, refreshing photographs. Don’t you just want to step into them?
