Marc Gerritsen

Imagine having lived in seven countries on four continents. Imagine being trained in arts and design but finding your creative outlet through a camera’s lens. Imagine taking pleasure in the simple things, in form and function but also in the joy of chaos. Imagine you had the talent and the eye to take these very strong images of equally strong spaces. Clean, crisp, uncompromising. Taipei based photographer Marc Gerritsen doesn’t have to imagine. This is his portfolio.

A tale of two cities

Real estate stalking again but I couldn’t make up my mind which house to feature. Only solution to that is to feature both. The first house is in Paddington, Sydney and all I can say is wow! Art, colour, art and more colour all with lashings of white. It’s hip, it’s fun and I’d kill for the artwork. No clue as to the design whizz on this one. Please put your hand up if it’s yours. Link here while it lasts.

The second house is in South Yarra, Melbourne and is the work of de Campo Architects. Here it’s the monochromatic, retro, warm timber and hard concrete vibe that is giving me goosebumps. Here’s the link.

Beach shack love

A small shack with jetty reaching out. The sound of water lapping gently. Laughter just before a splash and friends, lots of friends. I have dreams of the summer to come and this would be prefect. (Just as long as I don’t have to dust it!)

Is it a long weekend in the States?

If it is then it’s time for a holiday reading guide! No such luck here. We’re right out of public holidays until Christmas in my neck of the woods. So if you’re lucky enough to have three days off sit back and enjoy. New blogs, not so new, lots of eye candy and always inspiring. Hey even if it’s not a long weekend where you are there’s always time for blog hopping!

Jennifer Worts

I’m always putting labels on designers, trying to tie their work up in neat bundles with a few choice words. Timeless yet traditional, contemporary and classic, an eclectic mix of the perfect this and that. I could use these for Toronto interior designer Jennifer Worts’ portfolio but instead I’ll just say beautiful, simple and elegant, just beautiful.
